Although its roots go back many years, Berkman, Henoch, Peterson and Peddy, P.C., is young and aggressive. They have considerable expertise in representing financial institutions in negotiating and drafting required loan documentation and in closing a wide variety of commercial real estate and corporate lending transactions, including unsecured loans, secured loans, revolving credit loans, commercial finance, trade lines, term loans and asset-based lending transactions, as well as short-term construction lending and permanent real estate lending secured by mortgages on shopping centers, apartment complexes, industrial buildings, commercial buildings and residential subdivisions. The firm also is involved with structuring and closing health care related financing, industrial revenue bond financing and co-op and condominium conversions. Additionally, in the course of their representation of their banking clients, they regularly furnish advice on current developments in federal and state banking laws, regulatory and environmental issues, as well as update on recent court decisions.
They represent their clients in federal and New York state courts in significant areas of the law such as contracts, banking, bankruptcy and creditors' rights, real estate, product liability, trademark and unfair competition, equal employment opportunity, libel and slander, civil rights, municipal law, title claims and various other business-related litigation. The firm also litigates in personal injury defense matters for insurers and self-insured, as well as subrogation claims. They also represent clients before State and Administrative Agencies.
