Mayo Land Title Co., Inc.
The Mayo Title Company was founded September 1, 1887 by A.M. Mayo. Seaman A. Mayo followed in his fathers footsteps. Claudius A. Mayo, grandson of A.M. Mayo, returned from World War II and entered the Abstract and Title business, having learned the profession from his grandfather and uncle. Bradford H. Mayo joined his father, Claudius in the family business in 1961. In 1988 Bradford was joined by two of his sons, Thaddeus C. Mayo and Joshua V. Mayo. The name Mayo Land Title Co., Inc. was first used by the Company in1964.
Throughout its history the Mayo family has been active in their church and many community activities such as the Boy Scouts of America. Claudius Mayo served as Scoutmaster for 25 years, while Bradford Mayo is currently serving as Scoutmaster of Troop 5 and has done so for the last 22 years. The company primarily served Calcasieu Parish in its early history, but in 1970 began seeking work in the surrounding Parishes of Allen, Beauregard, Cameron, Jefferson Davis, and in recent years has included Vernon Parish.
