The ancestor to Alamo Title Insurance, Alamo Abstract and Title Company, was formed in 1922 in San Antonio, Texas. Since that time, Alamo Title has flourished weathering fluctuations in the economy while enjoying sustained, consistent growth and profitability. Their traditional philosophy, both in underwritings and fiscal responsibility, is reflected in their low loss ratios and positive operating results for many years.
Alamo Title Insurance Company is a subsidiary of Fidelity National Title Group who is one of the nation's leading real estate service companies, providing title insurance and escrow services in 49 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas and the Virgin Islands. Agency Services are provided by sole proprietors and attorneys to large multi-partner law firms and multi-state corporate entities that issue title assurances and perform real estate closing services on behalf of Fidelity.
For the first 70 years, Alamo directly wrote title insurance policies only in Texas, at the same time reinsuring transactions throughout the United States. In 1993, Alamo Title expanded into New Mexico. Today, Alamo Title Insurance is associated with more than 220 title agents in both Texas and New Mexico and owns title agencies in Houston, Austin, San Antonio and Fort Worth, Texas. Alamo Title is able to service the needs of customers throughout the United States through their large agency network and their relationships with other underwriters and agents.
Their staff is devoted to being reachable and receptive to all their customers' needs. The 700 individuals who make up Alamo Title hold this philosophy, and it has served them and their customers well for many years. The objective of the company has always been to raise the level of service to their existing title agents and their customers and to protect additional business from new agents. This assurance and attitude remain the reason for their growth and success.
They are the fifth largest title insurance underwriter in the state of Texas, and according to Standard and Poor's, they are the ninth largest title underwriter in the United States in terms of premium volume. Their objective is to carry on raising the level of service to their core title agents and their customers.
