New Hampshire Insurance Company
The New Hampshire Insurance was established in 1851, the first insurance regulatory agency in the United States. The rights and responsibilities of the Insurance Department are codified by the provisions of RSA 400 A of the Insurance Laws. By the provisions of this Chapter, the Insurance Commissioner is charged with all duties pertaining to the enforcement and execution of insurance laws of the State of New Hampshire.
The Commissioner is responsible for the collection of premium taxes and fees; and the regulation of all segments of the insurance industry as it performs in the marketplace, particularly in the treatment of policyholders and claimants. The Commissioner must be continually vigilant in ascertaining that insurance rates are excessive, inadequate, nor unfairly discriminatory.
The NH Insurance Commissioner, in partnership with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners now offers an online verification service for members of the public and the insurance industry to check the license status of insurance agents and producers in New Hampshire. This service is provided in order to better assist the needs of the insurance buying public and the insurance professionals that sell and service financial products in this state. This service allows you to search and verify the status of a New Hampshire licensee.
