In the late 1940’s, a group of Farm Bureau leaders in Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi, and Texas shared a vision for better member service and lower insurance rates. The idea was to start their own auto insurance company. The Farm Bureau in each of these states would share equally in the ownership of a stock company. On September 30, 1947, SFBCIC the Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company began business in Jackson, Mississippi. Louisiana Farm Bureau joined the group in 1950, followed by South Carolina in 1952 and Colorado in 2005. SFBCIC is a multi-line regional property and casualty insurance company operating in seven states of Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Texas.
Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company headquarters is situated in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
