Southern Farm Bureau Casualty

In the late 1940’s, a group of Farm Bureau leaders in Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi, and Texas shared a vision for better member service and lower insurance rates. The idea was to start their own auto insurance company. The Farm Bureau in each of these states would share equally in the ownership of a stock company. On September 30, 1947, SFBCIC the Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company began business in Jackson, Mississippi. Louisiana Farm Bureau joined the group in 1950, followed by South Carolina in 1952 and Colorado in 2005. SFBCIC is a multi-line regional property and casualty insurance company operating in seven states of Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Texas.
Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company headquarters is situated in Ridgeland, Mississippi. They market their products through their six state offices and the 2200plus independent contractor agents in those states. Most homeowner and commercial insurance policies do not cover floods. However, you can get flood insurance for your home or business if your community participates in the National Flood Insurance Program. There are nearly 20,000 communities in the United States now participating in this program.
Almost sixty years ago, Farm Bureau was established to provide affordable insurance to the rural farming communities. But as the company grew and the product line expanded their customer base naturally broadened to include all geographical groups.
The consolidated Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company is one of the largest property and casualty insurance companies in the nation. The company’s financial strength can boast $2.5 billion in assets and $1.3 billion in surplus. Also, with over 2.1 million policies or vehicles in force, their net written premiums exceed $1.4 billion annually.
Their policyholders have a strong assurance of their ability to pay. This ability is further confirmed by their superior rating from A.M. Best Company. Less than 2percent of property and casualty insurance organizations in the nation hold this coveted top distinction.

Adding to their financial stability, Southern Farm Bureau Casualty intends to remain a leader in the insurance industry through innovative services and competitive products for its policyholders. Their training facility, Farm Bureau Tech, is nationally documented for graduating some of the most knowledgeable claims adjusters and underwriters in the industry. Their independent agents undergo constant product and customer training. Their customer service center is open twenty-four hours, seven days a week. Their goal is to enhance their services and offer a full-line of products through their state offices.
