Miami Mutual Insurance Company began in 1877 in Miami County, Ohio as a farm mutual. The Company applies over 125 years of service offering unsurpassed financial performance and insurance experience. The company concentrated on homeowners and farm owners in Ohio until 1996 when the first commercial policy was issued.
The Company extends the promise of maintaining strong financial performance so they will always be able to offer prompt, courteous and fair service to their agents and policyholders. Beginning in January of 1997, the company undertook the task of expanding into specialty lines such as Equine Liability, Vacant Property and Main Street Commercial. In 1998 Farm and Commercial Auto were added to the portfolio of products.
In 1999 Miami Mutual expanded operation to the state of Indiana offering Homeowners, Farm owners and Commercial products. Further expansion was undertaken in 2003 with the merger of Land of Lakes Mutual in Minnesota.
The Company also operates Protective General Agency, which provides specialty products such as Motorcycles, Snowmobiles, ATV, Boat owners and Vacant to brokers in the states of Indiana, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin. The Company provides numerous products including Farm owner, Commercial, Dwelling Fire, Homeowners, Vacant, Business owners, Commercial Excess Liability and Commercial Auto.
