In August 2000, PPIC formed Advocate Insurance Resources, SPC, a captive insurance company organized as a segregated portfolio company under the Cayman Islands Companies Law of 1998. Its formation created a unique hybrid risk financing mechanism combining the stability of a successful licensed commercial insurance company with the flexibility of a Cayman Island captive insurance company.
