American Surety Company
American Surety was recently issued its Certificate of Authority by the State of Michigan. They have been writing bail for nearly two decades through Underwriters Surety, Inc. and with coverage through National American Insurance Company and most recently Indiana Lumbermens.
Underwriters Surety, Inc. owners acquired American Surety Company in 1993. American Surety was purchased with one purpose in mind, creating a national insurer specializing in bail. At that time, the firm was licensed only in California. Since 1993, the firm has expanded its coverage to 42 states while continuing to focus on commercial surety bail.
Their sister bail programs provide them with the flexibility to best serve their agents. Because of their extensive backgrounds at all levels of bail and customer service, they understand the problems bail agents face on a daily basis. This understanding allows them to work with bail agents in ways other companies cannot, or will not.
