Liberty Mutual Adds Assistance Programs to Group Disability and Life Policies

Counseling, Financial and Legal Services Help Employees Stay Focused and Productive

BOSTON – Coping with the death of a loved one, finding quality childcare and managing a family financial crisis, are some of the most trying events employees and their families may face.

And now human resource managers can quickly and cost-effectively help employees through such challenges.

Starting this month, critical counseling, financial and legal services are available to individuals covered under Liberty Mutual’s group disability and life insurance programs. Liberty Mutual teamed with a leading provider of employee assistance – Bensinger, DuPont & Associates – who will offer these services to employees enrolled in their employers’ group disability and life plans.

“The stress of caring for a sick child or aging parent, a darkening financial situation or some other hidden issue saps employees’ focus and cuts work quality,” notes Kevin Krzeminski, who heads Liberty Mutual’s group benefits sales. “Making accurate information and quality counseling available helps employees balance their home and work lives – something both they and your bottom-line will appreciate.”

Two programs are available:

MyLibertyAssistSM: Employee Assistance Program – Gives individuals covered by a Liberty Mutual group long-term disability program access to:
Counseling - Masters level counselors are available to discuss a range of emotional and family issues, such as alcohol abuse, anger management, and death and dying. Employees get up to five sessions free with a local counselor in addition to 24/7 access to services through a toll-free number.

Financial planning – Help from financial specialists is available on a range of credit, tax and debt topics. Employees can schedule a telephone session for more complex issues or call a toll-free information line with quick questions.

Legal services – Employees get local legal counsel on such issues as wills, divorce, and buying and selling a house. There is no fee for the first session and additional services are available at discounted rates.

Family information - Employees can request assistance with locating eldercare and childcare resources and also receive educational information on parenting, adoption and education through a toll-free number and website.

MyLibertyAssistSM: Beneficiary Services – Offers beneficiaries of employees covered under a Liberty Mutual group life program:

Counseling and Legal Services - Up to five meetings with counselors and/or lawyers to work through the grief and legal issues that follow the death of a loved one.

Financial planning – Beneficiaries can schedule a telephone session for more complex issues or call a toll-free information line with quick questions.
