GEICO Continues to Create Careers in Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y., January 18, 2006 - Last October, GEICO opened its newest operations office in Buffalo, with Governor George Pataki and GEICO Chairman Tony Nicely heading the celebration. The office is still bringing good news to Western New York as it continues to actively recruit in the region.

Currently employing 900 associates, GEICO is now hiring an average of 60 people a month for positions in sales, service, underwriting and claims. GEICO will be recruiting entry-level associates, college graduates and experienced professionals to fill those spots.

"This is a great time to build a career at GEICO," said John Zinno, who has managed the company's Buffalo office since its inception in 2004. "We have expanded our business at record rates and we are setting ambitious hiring goals to continue that growth. We know we can find the well-qualified people we need here in Western New York."

GEICO will hold a number of job fairs in the area soon:

February 2 — University of Buffalo's School on Management
March 2 — Hilbert College
March 7 — University of Buffalo
March 22 — St. Bonaventure College
March 22 — Niagara County Community College
